Why Bamboo?

Bamboo is endlessly renewable with new shoots developing from it’s root system, not even requiring replanting. Bamboo can be selectively harvested annually reaching maturity in 3-5 years, as opposed to softwoods which take 10-20 years, and hardwoods which take far longer.

Bamboo is amazingly strong with a very high tensile strength (nearly that of steel) and is considered the most durable hardwood. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet with varieties growing nearly a meter per day, renewing itself readily unlike hardwood trees. It stabilizes top soil with it’s root system and absorbs greenhouse gasses, releasing 35% more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees.
